After taking lots of photographs of the interior and exterior of the Watts chapel and the Watts gallery, I decided to make mono print drawings from them.
The image above is of the Watts gallery building. I mostly used newsprint to print onto as it have a nice thin, delicate feel to it rather than just use cartridge paper which use a lot in my work.
Above, are prints of a terracotta clay tile that was on the exterior of the chapel and to the left is a print of the chapel door.
Above are prints of the chapel stain glass window and a iron gate. I used cartridge paper to print the gate onto as I wanted to see how it would come out. I wanted to play around with contrast.
Above are prints of the chapel altar and a terracotta tile on the outside of the chapel.
Above are prints of the stain glass window in the chapel and to the right is a print of the outside of the chapel.
Above, to the left, is a print of the altar in white ink on black paper. I wanted to change the paper to see how it would come out. To the right is a print of the detail of the outside of the chapel.
I am planning on developing these prints further.
